Collins fishes out of a 2019 Pathfinder 2500 powered by a 300 HP Yamaha engine with 112# thrust Minn Kota Terova trolling motor and dual Lowrance HDS 12 units with radar for optimal success and safety.

Tackle includes Sawgrass, G.Loomis, Edge and TFO rods selected for each individual use each is parred with Shimano or Diawa reels. Collins uses Hatch fly reels and G.Loomis fly rods.

In addition to top-of-the-line equipment anglers can expect professionally prepped top end terminal tackle.

Heading out to the newest exotic fly destination is an exciting experience.  Gathering gear and prepping equipment is part of the fun.  Through Collins’s years of hosting and travelling trips around the globe, he has noticed that anglers don’t prep their skills enough.

If you are planning a trip to the Amazon, Seychelles, Christmas Islands, the Keys or anywhere that requires a new set of casting skills, you should take a lesson before arriving.  A true “fishing preparedness lesson” versus a “casting lesson” will save valuable time when you arrive at your dream destination. 

Fishing preparedness includes proper hook set, fighting angles, and of course the cast.  Our typical lesson is three or four hours of on-the-water-instruction that simulates what you should expect.  It can be as simple as casting a ten weight or bigger rod for the first time.  But the time fishing out of my boat will save you headache and heartache when you arrive and will allow you to hit the ground running!
